A fortuitous turn of events orchestrates an opportunity for aspiring composer Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger) to work beside the greatest artist alive: Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris)
Told in flashback, Copying Beethoven centres on the last years of Beethoven’s life – a turbulent period in which his personal struggles stimulated arguably the greatest symphony ever written, his Ninth. Featuring a soaring score, the film is driven by a towering performance from four-time Academy nominee Ed Harris in the title role.
