Arriving to grace us with its presence at CES, and timed meticulously as a perfect Valentine’s Day present, a new ZENBOOK ultrabook colour scheme named Rose Gold offers one of the most attractive laptops I’ve personally ever had the pleasure of…touching. Yes, never mind the specs for now, I’m fascinated with what the backroom boys (and girls) have done with the material science here. This laptop is extremely fun to touch, silky smooth with this dry and non-sticky feel to it. Not wanting to come across perverted or anything, but I could spend a good chunk of time simply touching ZENBOOK Rose Gold.

The romantic and tender colour delivers a contrast to the gunmetal feel of the first ZENBOOKs, but this is still the same durable spun-alloy monoshell construction, so I believe this new ZENBOOK offers the same strength when it comes to lastability. Under the hood it’s also much the same as previous models, coming in the UX21 and UX31 configurations with new Intel Core processors, standard SSD, and power saving via the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II. Because of this, ZENBOOK maintains up to two weeks of standby time, and grants us access to two-second resume if you simply close the lid, as opposed to shutting down from the start menu.
The included PowerWiz utility shows you exactly how much time is left on the battery by specific usage and mode. ASUS SonicMaster audio technology (co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower) results in pretty good sound for a laptop that starts at just 3mm thick and weighs just 1.3kg!
