asus eee pad sliderThe ASUS Eee Pad Slider was revealed to us all at Computex earlier this year and it looked just delicious. The superb specs, the screen size, and the everso slick keyboard interface put this pad on the radar of many a tech fan.

We have waited patiently for the Eee Pad Slider to arrive on our nearest shelf and, now that the launch date is looming, the device has just received its very own official page. No, I am aware that this is not the same as the real thing, but it does give you plenty of information as to what you can expect from this elusive device. Now, at long last, the list of specs and features is up for all to see, putting paid to rumour and getting us ready to enjoy something of a tablet evolution.

The Slider has an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, is built on the Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system and can be easily upgraded to 3.2 when it is released, has support for Flash (which is more than a little handy, let me tell you), a full QWERTY keyboard, 178 degree viewing angle, the indomitable Gorilla Glass, USB ports, MicroSD card reader and can be transformed from pad to netbook in seconds.

The keyboard is built into the pad itself so you can slide it out to type and slide it back in for easy portability. You get that laptop feeling without that laptop shoulder – something I think that future archaeologists may note. “Why do their shoulders slope like that?”

I believe it was the weight of technology in those days, sir.”

Quite.

So, say farewell to technology shoulder with this baby and enjoy all the features of a pad at the same time.

The fact that the ASUS Eee Pad Slider has received its own official site has not gone unnoticed by the media. Slashgear has enthusiastically mentioned the imminent arrival of the tablet as well as the new site and a list of their favourite specs. Ubergizmo chats about the rumours and the confirmed specs as well as the fact that you can get the Slider in either 16GB or 32GB sizes.

The story is followed up on Fudzilla, Phones Review, and Geeky Gadgets.
