‘Latest Action From the Studio’ Captured by my Asus Eee Pad

Among other projects I have recently been thinking about training, teaching, coaching and how to show someone how I go about painting… I have given a couple of courses to establish what I would be interested in developing in that way, if anything…but what has really gripped me in the last couple of weeks is filming the act of painting.

After a few days of using a static standard video camera, I thought how this perspective might be enhanced with a second view of the ‘action’ – basically hours of almost still and silent shooting, with me with a brush in my hand in front of a canvas…truly gripping possibilities! A video clip to be entitled ‘The fast and the Furious’ – only kidding – probably “Scratch This”… in any case one that will make a Bergman movie seem turbo driven…

Anyway, I suddenly remembered that my Asus EEE pad transformer, still under testing, has a super camera function for photo stills and for video. I have been using it for a second point of view and am delighted to be able to squeeze it into a studio corner where I can capture the scintillating moments of excitement, as I mix the paint in old coffee cans…
