ASUS has recently released the ASUS Maximus V Formula ThunderFX RoG Motherboard unto the world and it is an absolute find for the gamer. This motherboard is one of those designed to fit in with the Republic of Gamers (RoG) ethos where the design and features are all about giving gaming fans everything they need to get the most out of their machines.

ASUS Maximus V Formula ThunderFX RoG Motherboard

This is the old school and the awesome, right here. The easy console queens can have their pick up and play for there is almost nothing as good as hours spent tweaking your PC and getting phenomenal gaming performance out of it. And the ASUS Maximums V Formula ThunderFX is one step in the right direction.

Here you get the Z77 chipset with two SATA 6G and 3G ports and four USB 3.0 ports. You also get an ASMedia controller that adds on extra SATA 6G and USB 3.0 headers to the tune of four. Oh yes. Four. Then there is the fact that this board is two-way SLI and three-way CrossfireX ready and includes spaced PCIe slots so your cards are kept cool with maximised airflow. There is the Extreme Digi II+ VRM with a hybrid heatsink – these being one of ASUS’ specialities – and it has liquid cooling capabilities allowed for extra cool functioning at high temperatures, when you demand the most from your board.

You get loads of other extra features too and these I shall now list in a dramatic fashion: LGA1155 socket for 3rd generation Intel Core processor and 2nd generation core processors, ThunderFX audio for levels of awesome in gaming, SupremeFX IV, GameFirst II and Intel Gb LAN, mPCIe Combo, Windows 8 compatibility, fast boot, ASUS Boot Setting and plenty more. Take a look on their site to see exciting pictures, infographics and explanations about the card and start hunting for one in your local geeky hardware retailer because this beauty is a keeper…
