On the third day of Computex, ASUS hosted a series of seminars at the Taipei International Convention Center which is located not far from the world-famous Taipei 101. Guests included customers, vendors and distributors from all over the world, and the atmosphere was lively with a host of ASUS products demoed and explained. The three main themes of the seminars were gaming, connectivity, and innovation and all showcased the many ways ASUS products offer something unique.
Everyone in attendance had a good time, especially since each seminar included a Texas Hold Em-like game session where guests competed for prizes by answering trivia questions about ASUS products and technologies. The winning team took home cool prizes, and there was even a lucky draw.

WE looked at the new ASUS AiCloud app which works with iOS and Android devices to turn ASUS routers such as the RT-AC66U into your own personal cloud server. AiCloud offers quick and easy access to content, syncing, sharing, and even remote management of PCs, such as waking up a sleeping desktop or notebook.

The new RT-AC66U dual-band router was one of the keynote products at the seminar, delivering a look at the future of connectivity with extra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi and many new features.

Guests and ASUS team members got together to exchange ideas, experiences, and points of view. This was the entire purpose of the Tektrend seminar, as community outreach is a key part of the “start with people” approach ASUS takes with everything the company does. And don’t forget the light-hearted poker-esque game, which got everyone laughing.

The Show Hand game combined technology trivia with good times and a friendly atmosphere.

At the ROG session, gaming motherboards, graphics cards, audio devices, and desktops were all explained in detail.

The ROG crew highlighted the close ties the ASUS gaming division has to communities around the world, and the nearly universally-positive feedback ROG products receive from enthusiasts. It’s all about overclocking with ROG, apparently down to the impressive award count!

Lucky draw winner with Jackie Hsu, ASUS Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Sales. The winner took home ASUS HS-W1 headphones!

These guys won the Show Hand/Hold Em game and walked away with the best prizes! Well, they earned them with their profound knowledge of technology and ASUS products.
Thanks to everyone who joined and took part in the seminars, and here’s looking forward to next year’s Computex. I’ll make sure to be better prepared for the trivia part, I can tell you that much.
Thanks to Greg Tsai for taking the photos.

Suds McSoapdish
Thirty years ago, toddler Suds got his first taste of just how enjoyable technology can be when his parents gave him an Atari 2600. He soon picked up on the wonders of the Commodore 64, and the rest is history in the form of a long list of consoles, 80’s home computers and PCs built and assembled with great fervor. Writing and technology gradually moved up from hobbies to professions as Suds became the man he is today, and although he’s worked and traveled the world and experienced many things, technology, especially computing and gaming, has remained a solid constant.
