ASUS introduced the world to its Design Thinking DNA at a press event in Taipei last week; and showcased its entire line of innovative X, K, N, G Series notebooks and the ZENBOOK Prime for good measure.
This Design Thinking approach sees the company focusing on each and every notebook’s aesthetic beauty, sound, touch, cloud services, and a little something they call IOIC.
For ASUS, “Premium Perception” is this year’s core notebook design concept. Their approach is to pen the lines of each notebook with two goals in mind – it has to be unique, and it has to be elegant. Whether it’s the sharp, crisp lines of the G Series notebook, or the concentric circle finish on the ZENBOOK, keen eyes can make out the exquisite details that have been penned by ASUS designers.
They also must’ve been watching too much of The Sound of Music, having recognized the importance of music and audio in our daily lives. All ASUS notebooks now feature its proprietary SonicMaster sound technology. Co-developed with B&O ICEpower®, SonicMaster has been designed to bring audio to life through a combination of software and hardware. Over-sized resonance chambers and fine-tuned audio software combine to deliver the purest audio ever heard from a portable PC.
The ASUS Magic Touch team has also had their say in these new ASUS laptops. We’re now looking at larger touchpads with smooth multi-gesture support, including scroll, swipe, rotate, and pinch zooming. We’ve played around with it, and we believe it’s a tad bit more intuitive.
There’s also the ASUS cloud service – a convenient platform for users to store, share, and sync up their data through the cloud; and the MyBitCast App lets users sync notes, photos, and audio recordings across several devices at once. ASUS’ IOIC approach (Instant On, Instant Connect) – sees notebooks resuming from sleep mode in just 2-seconds and feature up to 2 weeks of standby time.
“It is our goal to create and deliver happiness to all of our customers and it is a commitment that can never be compromised,” said ASUS CEO Jerry Shen. Judging from audience responses so far, it’s big smiles all round.
